One hundred years ago, the Sami people first stood up against colonial oppression. Today, the indigenous people are trying to save their reindeer herds from wolves, wind turbines, and climate change. To mark this anniversary, the Sami Council will gather from across Lapland in Trondheim, Norway, in February 2017. The centenary celebration, Tråante 2017, will also take place with various events.
