A data journalism investigation as part of the November 30, 2014, vote on the abolition of lump-sum tax. This investigation focuses on wealthy foreigners in the Geneva municipality of Cologny, their organization, their economic activities, their social ties, and their possible departure in the event of a yes vote. To find out, we collected, analyzed, and visualized thousands of public data items from the Cologny land register. This data was enriched by other databases and fieldwork. The result? An original and relevant immersion into the social and economic fabric of Cologny. Read the details of this data journalism investigation (the approach, the operating mode, our difficulties) in our online making-of on the Data du Temps team blog.
