Lost childhood

Christine Bärlocher

The parenting magazine Fritz+Fränzi commissioned the photographer to photographically address the topic of child sexual exploitation in sensitive and emotional symbolic images, without becoming overly dramatic. My approach: A positively connoted object from the child's (victim's) world is shaky, damaged, and appears lost. The objects refer to different ages and genders of the affected children (victims). The setting suggests the location of the incident, usually the private home, or, according to a frequently recurring theme, a sports club.
