Matatu Metropolis

Christian Bobst

Between 20,000 and 40,000 graffiti-covered buses vie for attention on the streets of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. Each individual bus is a rolling work of art. The motto: the more flashy, the better. To stand out from the crowd, the owners pimp their so-called matatus not only with graffiti, but also with insane interiors.
