A worker at Gebrueder Meier AG in Daellikon destroys 4-5 tons of fresh Swiss cucumbers on Friday, June 3, 2011. Due to fears of the diarrhea-causing pathogen EHEC, sales of Swiss cucumbers have plummeted by about half in recent days, even though the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) has repeatedly given the all-clear: Swiss vegetables can be eaten without concern.
