More and more non-medical professionals are injecting hyaluronic acid. It's legal. "These days, injections are performed by beauticians, tattoo artists, and piercers," says cosmetic surgeon Thomas Fischer from Bern. Clients hope the drug will give them plumper lips or the disappearance of wrinkles, for example. The public pays for the treatment of the resulting damage. Politicians are resisting this.
