It all started with a simple observation: why can't we find biscômes bearing the image of Saint Nicholas in Fribourg anymore? This typically local treat is inherently linked to the patron saint of Fribourg. Why has the latter been supplanted by his rival, Santa Claus? Based on these questions, I decided to investigate and discover the reasons for this imposture. This light-hearted subject has generated many reactions from readers. The latest news is that a local printer has decided to produce and sell labels bearing the image of Saint Nicholas for the 2012 batch of biscômes.
