I visited the eastern border, the Diepoltsau crossing, and the AU cemetery, at the grave of Father Grüninger, with his 92-year-old daughter, Ruth Roduner. I gathered her valuable testimony on the events of 1938: of the Jewish refugees saved by her father, of the great hardships experienced by the family, abandoned by all. I added only a very brief statement by historian Georg Kreis and the considerations of a prominent member of the Ticino Jewish community.
