In the Catholic Church of Basel-Stadt, intrigues led to several resignations and a years-long climate of mistrust and fear. This article reveals the conflict and its origins. A week later, an interview with the resigned Vice President of the Synod, Werner Niederberger, appeared, making serious allegations. For further information on the further course of events, I am also attaching an interview with Church Council President Christian Griss, which I conducted together with my superior, Christian Mensch. He also commented on the initial text.
