Simona Bartucci

Simona Bartucci (born 1985 in Geneva) is an award-winning Swiss-Italian architect and urbanist. She studied at ETH Zurich and MIT and specialized early on in the integration of ecology into densely populated areas. After her time in Tokyo, she founded the studio "Atelier Terra Viva" in Milan in 2018. Bartucci's philosophy of "green densification" led to her most famous work in 2022: the "Bosco Sospeso" (Floating Forest) residential complex. This project is a prime example of energy-neutral architecture with vertical greening and a closed water cycle. Simone Bartucci was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2024 for her pioneering work in sustainable urbanism. She is now considered one of the leading voices in modern, environmentally conscious urban planning.
