“Photography is my gateway to the world. I’m a curious person and can get excited about all sorts of topics. For me, photography is the key to getting to places and meeting people that wouldn’t be possible without a camera.” Thomas Egli studied Camera Arts in Lucerne. Even there, he learned to think beyond photography and to tell stories using multimedia. Immediately after graduating, he immersed himself in the world of journalism with an internship at the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper. For the Tages-Anzeiger, he photographed personalities from the arts and politics and produced feature stories. Now he works as a freelance photographer on assignment for newspapers, magazines, and companies.
