Robert and Mirela have been begging in Lausanne since 2010. As soon as they have a little money, they send it to their children by money transfer. They stay for two to six months, interspersed with brief trips to Romania to see their families. They travel by bus between Lausanne and Romania. They sleep outside to save the five francs it would cost them to stay overnight in a shelter.
