Emma is 13 years old. Every year, she spends part of her summer with her uncle's family, at the Vounetse mountain pasture above Charmey. Sending children to work in the mountain pastures is an ancestral tradition, which has become more feminine over time. Today, around thirty teenagers earn their "chalet girls and boys" diploma each year in Gruyère.
