The article "At Gucci, Work Is Call-Free and Text-Based" (November 7, 2014, issue 17) investigates working conditions within the Ticino logistics facilities of Luxury Good Logistics and the tax implications generated by the presence of the headquarters of Luxury Good International (LGI) in Ticino. From testimonies gathered from logistics employees and documents proving the described working conditions, it was possible to ascertain that the organizational work planning system violates the regulations contained in the Federal Labor Law. The work organization in force at LGI requires extreme forms of flexibility from employees, making it almost impossible for them to have a personal life outside of work. The aim of this article is to provide readers with an overview of the extent to which flexibility, increasingly in demand in today's workplace, has been achieved and the repercussions on the personal lives of those subjected to it. The second part of the article focused on what is usually described as the other side of the coin: the fiscal implications for municipalities, the canton, and the federal government resulting from the presence of Luxury Good International's headquarters in Ticino. This was a complex investigation, given the absolute confidentiality surrounding the matter.
