Wild fruit varieties are the predecessors of today's familiar fruits and are now almost extinct. An arboretum is currently being built above Dürrenäsch in the Aargau Seetal valley, which will eventually contain up to 800 different wild fruit varieties: "It's a kind of living gene bank," says project leader Victor Condrau. A visit to the arboretum and a farm seeking a new source of income with wild fruit.
