Most pigs (Swiss Press Audio 2014, by Karin Portmann) - Swiss Press Award

SRF1, in allen Regionaljournalen

The canton of Lucerne has more pigs than inhabitants. This animal record has stood for decades. The topic has been addressed several times in the past in connection with animal welfare, environmental problems, or odor emissions. My pig report aims to be surprising. The Swiss still eat the most pork. To ensure it meets the taste, breeding is influenced. The Swiss Pig Center in Sempach, Lucerne, conducts research into the optimal grilled cutlets. My report provides insights into pig breeding and shows that a tender steak is no coincidence. The report was part of the summer series of all regional journals. The topic was "Swiss Records." The regions outdid each other with records: the highest divorce rate, the oldest inn, or the most pigs. This was also the specification for the title. The report length was defined as 6-8 minutes, and I had two working days to produce the on-air and online reports. The report was broadcast on all SRF 1 regional journals on July 22, 2013.
