Waiting for peace (Central African Republic)

Michael Zumstein

In the Central African Republic, nearly 70% of the territory is beyond state control, and only the capital, Bangui, and two regions live in relative peace. In Bangassou, in the southeast of the country, various militias terrorize the population. Religious authorities are desperately trying to maintain a peace that no one believes in anymore, as hopes and trust have been betrayed.
