Payerne Slaughterhouses 1908-2013. This photographic work is dedicated to the Payerne slaughterhouses. It allowed me to approach people and animals in order to document the world of animal slaughter, as well as a traditional way of doing things that has disappeared or is in danger of disappearing. Dating from 1908, this building remained one of the last large municipal slaughterhouses in operation. But following the introduction of new health standards, the municipality no longer wanted to invest money, and it was closed, as was the case, previously, with many regional slaughterhouses in Fribourg and Switzerland.
