Geneva's public transport network was 70% modified as of December 11th. This historic transformation is the result of the inauguration of the new Cornavin-Onex-Bernex tram line. By coincidence, a Zurich mobility delegation came to visit part of the construction site in early October 2011, about two months before the launch of the new network. This was an opportunity for me to take stock of this major change, with the perspective of recognized outside experts in the field providing a rather original perspective. This report thus highlights some of the seeds of malfunctions in the new TPG line spacing. The anticipated problems were indeed confirmed as early as December 11th, provoking considerable criticism from users. This article also inaugurates a series of investigations to identify the changes before they are announced and to calculate/test the new frequencies (October 13, December 14), reports (November 26...) and interviews (December 16 and 24) in connection with the implementation of the new network.
