The ox is lying in the straw. He doesn't know it, but in about ten minutes, he will pass from life to death. Christian Rüfenacht, 60, a farmer in Longirod, and his son Jean-Marc, 27, also a farmer, are the first in the canton of Vaud to have obtained permission to slaughter their animals directly on the farm.
